# What should I do if my webhooks aren't working?


## What are webhooks

Webhooks can be used to automatically forward data to a HTTP destination of your choice whenever data is received in cThings Cloud. This can be useful to integrate a third-party application with a direct feed of data from your devices.

## Why is my webhook not triggering?

Webhooks will only trigger for active devices. If you device is inactive, your webhook will not trigger.

## Testing webhooks

You can test webhooks directly from a device in cThings Cloud. Navigate to your device and select the *Configuration* tab, towards the bottom of the screen you will see a list of webhooks enabled for you device. To the right of each webhook, beside the Status column, click the clipboard icon. The webhook testing screen will open as illustrated below. Click *Test Webhook* to test your webhook.
