How do I add tags to an asset, device or network node?
Tags allow you to add extra context or metadata to your assets, devices, and network nodes in cThings Cloud.
They can make it easier to filter, group, and analyse data in reports - especially when working with a large number of devices.
Adding tags to assets, devices and network nodes
Access the configuration page
- Search for your asset, device, or network node in cThings Cloud.
- Open the item and select the Configuration tab at the top of the page.
Create your tag
- Scroll down to locate the Tags tile.
- Click + Add Tag to open the tag creation menu.
Customise your tag
- Enter a custom key and value for your tag (for example, Location: Warehouse 1)
- (Optional) Add the tag to a Tag Group — this helps organize tags and makes them available for use in custom reports.
- Once you’re satisfied, click Add Tag to save.
Verifying the changes
- Your new tag will now appear under the Tags tile on the configuration page.
- Use the edit or delete icons on the right-hand side to make changes or remove the tag later.
