How do I change the default graph for a device?

Customising the default graph for a device allows you to tailor the displayed data to better suit your needs. Whether you want to focus on specific values or adjust the visualisation, this article will guide you through the steps to change the default graph quickly and easily.

Steps to change the default graph for a device

Navigate to the device page
Click on the Data tab

Graph Options

The default graph settings allow you to customise how each value or attribute (e.g., "Light Level", "Temperature", "Humidity") is displayed.

After choosing your desired options, remember to click "Done" to save your changes.

Here’s a quick overview of the available options:

Order

Adjust the position of each value on the graph. The value that is ordered first will have its label displayed on the graph’s y-axis. Moving a value higher or lower in the order changes its visual priority, helping you emphasise specific data points.

Colour

Assign unique colours to each value for better distinction. For example, setting "Light Level" to green and "Temperature" to blue makes it easier to identify data at a glance.

Type

Choose the visual representation for each value, such as "Line (smooth)" or other chart types. This ensures the data is displayed in the most understandable format for your needs.

Bar Width

If using a bar chart, you can adjust the bar thickness for each value. Wider bars emphasise the data, while narrower bars allow more information to fit within the graph.

Min and Max

Set the minimum and maximum range for each value’s axis. Use "Auto" to let the system determine the best range or define specific limits to focus on a particular data range.

Visibility

Toggle whether a value is displayed on the graph. Use this to declutter the graph by hiding values that aren’t relevant to your analysis.
