How do I change the network server of a network node?
Changing the network server of a node may be necessary if you are migrating to a new server infrastructure or troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Steps to change the network server of a network node
Access the communication menu
- Navigate to the device page in cThings Cloud.
- Hover over the **Network Node **dropdown located in the top-right corner.
- This menu may look different on some nodes but will always contain an **Edit Communication **block.
- Select Edit Communication from the dropdown to open the communication configuration menu.

Select the appropriate communication type
- Within the communication settings, you will see the available communication types for the node.
- Select the LoRa tab to manage LoRaWAN-specific settings, including the network server.

Select the desired network server
- Click the Network Server dropdown to view all available options.
- Choose the appropriate network server from the list based on your deployment or provider.

Set the relay profile
- You may have to also update the relay profile for a node when switching network servers.
- Choose the appropriate relay profile based on the device and region.

Finalising the changes
- After selecting the desired network server, click the Update button located in the bottom-right corner of the settings window to apply the changes.

- After updating the network server, your device may take several minutes to reconnect.
- Not all devices will reconnect automatically, and for those that do, there may be a defined interval between rejoin attempts.
